  • New Release 1.20 - Create Promotions in Bluestore Live!

    An update to Bluestore Live will be released on Monday 28th Sep between 4am and 6am GMT. The enterprise console will be unavailable for about an hour but POS terminals will continue to function normally.

    The main feature in this new release is the addition of promotions. This allows the set up of automatic discounts based on the customer purchasing a specific quantity of products or spending a certain amount of money.

    The changes in this release are:

    • New retail promotions function
    • Fix error in stock on hand report when the cost price has an incompatible unit
    • Report Payments by Customer
    • Maintain prices - set initial entry to default price list
    • Fixes for charges and discount values
    • Drawer events report showing incorrect date/time
    • Improvements to price override logic

    As with all new releases, we recommend testing before applying the update in your live stores. Your individual enterprise data can have a bearing on how the system functions so it is important to test first - we will not charge for the creation of a test store on your account as we prefer you to ensure the update will work successfully for you.

  • New Release 1.15 for Bluestore POS

    An update to Bluestore POS was released today, Monday 27th Jan.

    Our deli and cafe customers have long been asking for the ability to create customer bills, capture table and number of covers for parked sales and print to a second kitchen printer. This is all now possible with Bluestore and it also adds the potential to create layaways and pre-orders direct from the POS.

    The power of the POS sales screen has been enhanced with the addition of free text notes at transaction and line item level adding a huge amount of flexibility to the information that can be added to the sale and printed on the customer receipt.

    We've also improved the data import facility on this new version. It's now much simpler to import your products, prices and stock to Bluestore, with clear messages to help you diagnose problems with the data before it has loaded.

    New reports have been added to display the sales summary and detail by customer, along with improvements to the VAT / Sales Tax reporting and the Top Sellers Report.

    Here's the full list of new features and enhancements:

    • New and improved data import function.
    • Print an open bill to present to the customer for payment.
    • Add notes to the sale either at transaction or item level

    • Improvements to validation of API requests and various API bug fixes.
    • More sophisticated and streamlined data flow between store and cloud server. Reduces load on the system.
    • Fix issue whereby a sale in progress can be opened on a second terminal causing an error.
    • Improvements on terminal startup in situations where the store is already running.
    • Notify user on reconciliation if parked sales are about to be deleted.

  • Haven't Got Time to Wait in That Queue....!

    To prevent long queues and disgruntled customers, Bluestore POS allows a number of terminals to be run alongside each other in busy stores.

    Due to the way in which the terminal application works, several store terminals all run in sync with each other. Stock is updated on all terminals at once when a sale is made or stock is adjusted using the goods receipt and stock count functions.

    If the store cannot connect to the cloud for some reason, internet connection downtime or ISP problems, the terminals in store keep running. Stock is still synchronised between the store terminals which is not possible if each terminal is a standalone browser based POS.

    This is where our Smart Client technology comes into its own. It means the store keeps on running with no difference to the user when your internet connection wavers, it simply starts synchronising with the cloud again once the connection is restored. There is no limit to the length of time it will keep working without being connected to the internet.

  • Controlling the Frequency of the POS Cloud 'Heartbeat'

    If you have a limited broadband usage contract for your stores, it is possible to fine tune the frequency at which the keepalive 'heartbeat' messages are sent to the cloud hub. This heartbeat message tells the hub that the POS is alive, connected and ready to accept new updates.

    The messages are tiny but, due to the frequency of sending, they can add up over time to a reasonable amount of data that could fall foul of usage limits if you have a particularly stringent broadband contract.

  • Credit card integration - testing complete

    We have recently finished integration with YesPay's EasyV-Terminal which provides integrated credit card processing in Bluestore Live POS.

    Retailers will be able to take all types of chip and pin and swipe cards depending on the limitations of their bank merchant account. The POS manages the communication with the card terminal and the printing of both merchant and customer receipts.

    All merchants with a YesPay agreement will be able to take advantage of the integrated card processing solution - more details on pricing and setup will be made available soon.

    The integration will be available initially in the UK with roll-out planned to US and Canada.
